Year Round Enjoyment
In summer, the lake becomes a vibrant hub of activity. The calm, clear waters are ideal for swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and even electric boat cruises. You’ll find a 12 km lakeside trail that circles the entire shoreline, perfect for a peaceful walk, morning run, or bike ride with postcard-worthy views at every turn.
Come winter, the lake often freezes over completely, transforming into an incredible ice surface where visitors can ice skate or walk across. With snowy mountain backdrops and the town lights reflecting off the ice, it’s a sight that shouldn’t be missed
Eco-Friendly and Peaceful
Combustion engine boats aren’t allowed on Lake Zell (with the exception of a few ferries), preserving the peaceful atmosphere. Electric boats are available to rent, letting you enjoy the lake quietly and sustainably. From the water, you’ll get unique views of the surrounding mountains and the charming lakeside villages.
